GREENE COUNTY YMCA CAPITAL CAMPAIGN ANNOUNCES EMURGENT CARE GIFT OF $50,000



The Capital District YMCA announced a $50,000 contribution designated to the new Greene County YMCA Capital Campaign on Monday, June 25, 2007 at the EmUrgent Care offices located on Route 9W in West Coxsackie. The Greene County YMCA has begun a $5 million campaign to build a YMCA in the community.

Meredith Menzies, Executive Director of the Greene County YMCA thanked the Hassett family and EmUrgent Care for their support. Menzies stated "community support such as this will allow us to build a state of the art YMCA facility in Greene County".

Dr. Steve and Pam Hassett of EmUrgent Care announced their gift with much enthusiasm and excitement. Pam Hassett stated "We are so appreciative of the outpouring of community support for our medical facility. Due to this support we have the opportunity to give back to our community through this donation."

Dave Brown, CEO/President of the Capital District YMCA stated that "community leaders have joined together to support and provide for the creation of a YMCA. We are thankful to EmUrgent Care for their support".

The YMCA in collaboration with local business and community members look forward to bringing a 30,000 square facility to Greene County. Amenities of the facility will include a Kid’s Corner, fitness areas, an aerobics studio, multi-purpose gymnasiums, swimming pool, running track, and a community room. The Greene County YMCA will start school age child care programming in the fall in Coxsackie-Athens Central School District.

The Capital District YMCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of fitness and healthy lifestyles, strengthened family life, community develop the instilment of leadership qualities in our young people and strengthened international understanding based on Judeo-Christian principles.
